blackthornhiei@gmail.com BioThough everyone knows me as Blackthornhiei, Chicome-calli Xiuhquetzal is the Nahuatl name I gave myself. It means 7-House (my birthdate. I was born on a 7-House day) Fire Quetzal.
Born in the smallest country in Central America in 1975, I've lived through a civil war, three major quakes and several medium and minor quakes. Been through two schools and was allowed to leave my second school before the rest of my class. Missed graduation and prom and was certainly worth it. Nine months in Israel: six in an Ulpan in Kibbutz Meggido, three in a Tzahal program, Marva.
Though I don't know my id number, my rifle serial number has been forever burned in my memory. And if given an M-16 rifle, I'm pretty confident I can still disarm and rearm it.
Went through 3 and a half universities, two different majors, until father decided it was enough and had me on a job interview. Been working since, and I frankly enjoy it, despite the fact that I've had my economical ups and downs.
Grew up watching anime on local tv, and rediscovered it in Israel. Old School otaku (yeah, I know what that means, and that's why I say it), a bit of a trekkie, space shuttle fangirl, the dinosaur phase still strikes hard, amateur archeologist (ok... I think I'm very below the amateur rank), Gundam and Digimon fan, I enjoy pupusas and falafel equally, founder of a small, two-person scanlation team specializing in translating Gundam manga from english to spanish and currently in a long-distance relationship with a girl in Mexico.
